Description
The Sheep faction, previously a promotional giveaway and later available for purchase, is now part of the 10th Anniversary set. Initially, this set was known as "Sheep!" in the online insert, but it's also referred to as "Smash Up Sheep Promo" on the divider in The Bigger Geekier Box.
Without an official rulebook or flavor text, the Sheep faction's playstyle is described in The Bigger Geekier Box rulebook as focusing on minion movement and manipulating cards from both your own deck and those of your opponents. This allows for dynamic gameplay and strategic card play.
The Sheep faction has a complexity rating of Medium-High, indicating a need for thoughtful planning and execution. As part of the 10th Anniversary set, the Sheep join other factions like the Mermaids, Skeletons, and World Champs, offering a unique set of abilities to distinguish them from other playable factions.
Cards Overview
The Sheep faction boasts a standard roster of 10 minions and 10 actions. Notably, their minions pack a significant punch, with a total base power of 33, averaging 3.3 power per minion - a step above the typical 30 total power and 3 average.
Their action cards are divided into several categories, including two that can be played on minions: In Sheep's Clothing and Shearing. There's also one action, Counting Sheep, that can be played on a base. The remaining actions include six standard ones, with three of these - Ewe Shall Pass, On the Lamb, To Follow, or Not?, and Wood for Sheep - having effects on one or more minions. 1x Shearing - Play on a minion. Draw a card. Ongoing: This minion has -2 power. At the start of your turn, return this action to your hand.
2x To Follow, or Not? - Choose another player. Choose a random action in their discard pile. Play it as an extra action or return it. Draw a card.
1x Wood for Sheep - Choose another player. Reveal a random card from their hand. You may place a card from your hand into their hand to play the revealed card. Otherwise return it and play an extra action.
